Introducing LinkedIn Statistics
So the introduction of stats (available from the More tab) is good news if you want a heads-up dashboard of who's in the group form the demographics tab.
You can also get a line graph of the growth rate of members and the activity of the group including stats like numbers of comments. Use this information to decide whether the group is hot or not and when to be proactive in starting conversations.
Demographics view points you decision-makers and market sectors
The demographics view displays information about the level of seniority of those people, their rough category of job, a summary of location and the industries hanging out there.
Why not use this not only to choose which groups you join, but also get a flavour for how well your own groups are doing compared to other similar groups.
