Social media: why your business needs it - even if you mistrust it

We've been examining the latest batches of social media statistics. More than two-thirds of US internet users regularly use a social network.
In Europe, in the Big 5 countries, it's a similar story: over half the population now use social media, says eMarketer. We've reached the tipping point.
What does this mean for you?
Take a deep breath. It is now irrelevant if you personally use social media or believe in the value of it for business.
Your current and future customers, prospects, employees and partners are using it. You have to be in the places they go - or you won't get found.
Why? Social media is now so pervasive that, rather than going through Google, people often turn to sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to ask questions, share resources, and research products and services.
That's why social media should be an essential component of every organisation’s integrated marketing strategy.
